James “JJ” Johnson serves as the Company’s Vice President of Operations, Eastern Division. A previous Vice President of Strategic Development which offered ground support-based training to JTACs, and 26 year veteran as a Combat Controller of United States Air Force (USAF), JJ provides his seminal experience and critical perspective of what it takes to provide the best Close Air Support (CAS) training for JTAC’s in the field.

A native of Buffalo, New York, JJ graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a major in Human Factors Engineering. Following graduation and throughout his career, JJ stayed true to his passion for flight and pursued a challenging career as a Combat Controller.   JJ embodies his life credo, encouraging others to “enjoy what you do.” 

Having served recurrently as a graduated Squadron and Group Commander, JJ was proud to lead the 321st Special Tactics Squadron in Mildenhall, UK, the 607th Air Support Operations Group in Osan, Korea, and the 720th Special Tactics Group in Hurlburt Field, FL.

Over the course of his distinguished career, JJ also served as a Joint Staff Officer at the Pentagon and deployed multiple times to Honduras, Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. JJ’s patriotism and   passion for service are ever-present in his work with clients and colleagues alike. JJ continues to focus on how he can add value and help others through training. As a former triathlete, JJ enjoys continuing his physical conditioning and remains   active in sports and community events. JJ enjoys spending his down time with his wife and two daughters jet skiing the waters of the Florida Panhandle. His oldest daughter attends Florida State University, and the other attends high school.
