RICO WOODARD

As the Chief Maintenance Officer, Rico Woodard oversees Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, and Occupational Safety for Blue Air Training. Rico enjoys the challenge of keeping his finger on the pulse of all aspects of Blue Air operations, so he can be ready to respond to the emergent needs of Blue Air’s expanding client base.

One of the things that sets Rico apart is his ability to bring consensus to the mission. Even in the most diverse group, Rico has the ability to bring people together to accomplish the most challenging of missions. His eagerness to continue learning and growing led to him gaining expertise in a multitude of aircraft during his tenure as a weapons troop, including the F-22, A-10, F-15C/D, and F-15E.

Starting out as an armament systems apprentice, his dedication to putting others first combined with his forward-thinking attitude, allowed for many impressive opportunities. Over the course of his career, Rico led several ground-breaking teams to include the support cadre for the first Navy F-35 Joint Fighter Integration deployment. Rico retired as a Master Sergeant after a successful and satisfying 23-year Air Force career.

One of Rico’s greatest achievements is his pride in seeing those whom he has supervised and mentored achieve success in their Air Force careers. His passion and caring for others show strongly into his current role with Blue Air; in his own words “if you concentrate on taking care of people, they will take care of the company or unit.” He considers himself lucky to work in an organization with people he enjoys, who he can call friends, and who have readily welcomed him into the Blue Air family.

When Rico’s not busy attending to his work family, you can find him enjoying family time around his pool as an escape from the hot Las Vegas sun. He and his wife have one son who will be entering college, and five daughters who range from 14 to 2 years old.
