Duties and Responsibilities
The Weapons Systems Officer (WSO) will assist in air navigation, Air Order of Battle (AOB) integration, fire control planning, and effective weapons control and delivery tactics.
The WSO will perform pre-flight and in-flight mission planning activities within federal regulations, exercises a thorough knowledge of Close Air Support (CAS) Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), and participates in post-flight debriefing with client.
The WSO is responsible for radio communications procedures and proficiency, multi spectrum sensor operation, and application 3-09.3 JCAS.
Must possess excellent communication and people skills, to include problem solving and organizational skills. Must be willing to travel. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be fluent in the English language with excellent communication skills. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Previous JTAC qualified desired, previous Close Air Support experience a must. Previous Special Operations experience desired. Previous sensor operations knowledge desired. Must hold a commercial pilot certificate. Must have minimum 1300 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) under FAA commercial certificate and 300 hours PIC of an F- or A- designation aircraft, and be previously DoD Instructor WSO qualified and trained flight lead (2-ship) in F- or A- designated aircraft. Ability to simulate multiple platforms during a mission up to and including CAS, ISR, rotary wing a must. Previous FAC(A) or Air Warden experience desired. Knowledge of 3-09.3 a must.
